Water Conservation
One of the most important initiatives taken by SVF is in the area of conserving water resources.
Starting with an awareness seminar, SVF established a student chapter at a leading engineering college in Chennai. In a specially organized lecture at the college, Dr. Lovelyn Theresa explained the concept of ‘Water Audit’ to the staff and students.
Following this event, SVF prepared an action plan and launched the ‘Water Audit process in March 2026, demonstrating ‘From Awareness to Action.’
Solar Bulk Cooking Initiative
As a sequel to steep hikes in the price of LPG, SVF has launched this initiative in May 2026 to reduce costs and use free Solar Energy in Bulk Cooking
Summer Initiative for School Students
Waste Segregation at Source
SVF successfully launched this initiative on June 1, 2026 for school students to volunteer during vacation at Vigneshwara Flats, Vadapalani, Chennai.
As part of this community outreach program, enthusiastic school students visited households, distributed awareness materials, interacted with residents, and demonstrated the importance of separating waste into different categories such as wet waste, dry waste, sanitary waste, and hazardous/toxic waste.
The future of environmental stewardship lies in empowering our children to lead by example.
